In 1979, Peter and Janice Maxson acquired Omar’s Custom Picture Framing in Costa Mesa, California, and kept the name “Omar’s Framing” on the signage to maintain a tradition of excellence and service that had been established in the mid-sixties.

Peter’s Gallery is the last “full-service” framing gallery in southern Orange County and the Newport Coast cities of Newport Beach, Corona del Mar, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, and Irvine, and an impressive collection of over 5,000 picture frame corner samples. The gallery offers traditional cut-and-mitered construction wood frames, ready-made gallery frames, custom joined closed-corner decorative framing, custom wood finishes, museum-quality 22 karat gold leaf frames, and welded metal and leather finished frames.

Peter’s Gallery serves a diverse clientele, from homeowners and collectors to artists, designers, and real-estate developers, and its reach has extended beyond the Newport Coast area with the establishment of the online resources MuseumClassics and TV CoverUps. In 2001, Peter and Janice established MuseumClassics.com to provide fine art reproductions, original oil paintings, and custom picture framing. The gallery has also partnered with Polo Ralph Lauren and the Ralph Lauren Home in Los Angeles to provide elegant and creative additions to their displays, room décor, and shop windows. As a result, Peter’s Gallery is the only picture framer featured in the Ralph Lauren City Guide for the Greater Los Angeles Area. Furthermore, the Irvine Corporation has chosen Peter’s Gallery to provide custom picture framing for their Irvine Spectrum Center. For all of these projects, the gallery has achieved a unique balance between art and engineering to combine beauty with strength and practicality.
