Art & Picture Restoration Repair
Peter’s Gallery provides a musuem archival restoration service- restoring the original life in paintings . We work together with our clients to evaluate and select the best procedure for the artwork. Artistic, historical and financial aspects are all considered.
Our restoration process for paintings includes tear repair, lining, cleaning, stretching, in-painting (re-painting) of missing paint and varnishing. Severely damaged paintings, art that has losing/missing paint, or paintings with decomposing original canvas are : re-lined, repairing any tears, catching and adhering the painting's chips, and providing new support. When needed, we also professionally in-paint missing or weathered portions of the art.
Peter’s Gallery also offers retouching and digital composition services to complement our Giclee printing. Our technical staff can work wonders reviving and bringing new life to aged photographs, but we will always work together with our clients to review, evaluate and select the correct amount of restoration/re-composition to be accomplished within the client’s budget. During the process, proofs are always available upon request and in-progress images can be emailed for approval.
